Story
The gentleman on the label is the winemaker’s great-grandfather carrying empty casks back into the vineyard in Vienna’s 19th district. I went to kindergarten down the road; my mother lives five minutes away; and my father rests in the church shown on the label. SEPP is a nod to the easy hospitality of Vienna’s Heuriger taverns—bright, unpretentious wine in the original 1-liter sharing format.
Zweigelt is Austria’s most-planted red, beloved for its versatility and vibrant fruit. SEPP Zweigelt Red is made for the relaxed atmosphere of Vienna’s Heuriger wine taverns — generous pours, simple food, and conversation that stretches into the night. A liter bottle means there’s always enough to go around. We call it the Austrian Gamay with Pepper!
